The latest incident ocurred in Faridabad village in Haryana where a housewife was raped at gunpoint by six armed goons.

The goons forcibly entered the house in a colony located in Faridabad village. The rape survivor was inside her house alongwith her husband. Their tenant Mohan was sleeping in the next room.

Around 2 am at night, the woman’s distant cousin Raj Kumar knocked at the door. As the rape survivor knew him, she opened the door.

Raj Kumar then brandished a gun and he entered the house along with his five accomplices. According to the victim, the men tied her to a cot and took turns to rape her at gunpoint. As the woman’s husband and the tenant tried to protect her, they were beaten and tied as well.

Horrible Haryana?

  • Haryana has one of the lowest gender ratios in the country.
  • In 2015, Haryana saw 204 reported cases of gangrape according to NCRB.
  • For three years, Haryana has had highest number of gangrapes per lakh of population.

The woman continued to suffer. As she tried to free herself, she was beaten unconscious by the goons.

What’s more horrific was that the rapists continued to gangrape her even when she was unconscious.

The accused Rajkumar and his accomplices also stole jewellery worth Rs. 3 lakhs and cash worth Rs. 1.40 lakhs.

Six rapes including gangrapes of two minor dalit girls have put the Haryana government in the dock.

Chief minister Manohar Lal and his cabinet colleagues who were busy banning the film Padmavat on Tuesday came under a direct attack from the opposition Congress.

Now National Commission for Women (NCW) will intervene following the growing incidents of rapes in Haryana. NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma will meet Haryana DGP in Panchkula tomorrow to discuss the horrific incidents.

A delegation led by the former Chief MinisterBhupinder Singh Hooda met the governor and submitted him a memorandum demanding dismissal of the BJP government.

‘The state government led by Manohar Lal Khattar has lost its bearing. The law and order situation has worsened. Minor and Dalit girls are being gangraped and brutally killed. We have requested the governor the removal of Khattar as Chief Minister’
