Bijnor: Police busted a gang involved in making fake Aadhaar cards on Friday and arrested three people running the racket. More than 65 Aadhar cards, biometric machines, lamination machines, a finger-print scanner machine and other equipment were recovered in the raid.

Addressing a press conference, Amroha superintendent of police (SP) Sudhir Kumar Singh said, “Police had got a tip off about a few persons running a fake racket issuing Aadhar cards outside Amroha tehsil. After getting the information, police raided a shop and arrested two persons identified as Kannan and Aslaan of Pachchhaiya under Amroha police station. Both had illegally been issuing Aadhar cards here. Police have seized three web cameras, one cooling pad, three laptops, three LCDs, a biometric machine, a finger-print scanner, 65 Aadhar cards, one PAN card, eight voter IDs, lamination machines etc.”

Singh added, “The arrested persons were using the finger-print stamp of one Mohammad Sakib, the holder of a public service centre. Police have arrested him too. The accused are being questioned and a case has been registered under sections 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 464 (Making a false document), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 471(Using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of IPC.”
